Can this be used in the bedroom?

For what purpose? I walk into and out of my bedroom with these all the time. Anything else, you’ll have to judge for yourself.

does this have a 7/8 inch opening

I am using mine on a pair of Drive forearm style crutches, and the lower shaft is 7/8 inch. It took a little to force the tips on, but they did go on, and I have been walking on the same pair of Tornado tips since last fall. Oct. 2012 I think.

May i but just 1 tip? i'd like to buy only 1 tip... i  do not walk, but use one crutch when i transfer...

I've never seen them sold as anything but as a pair here and on on Fetterman's website.  It sounds like you don't use your one crutch enough for the tip's durability to be an issue for you. Do you know anyone else who uses a cane the tip might fit? They fit 3/4 to 1 inch shafts, and while I'm not sure, I think that size may apply to many canes. If that works, you could go dutch on the purchase, or give the extra tip as a gift!

For customers who have used both the Performance and the Tornado which do you prefer?

I have always had good luck with the Tornado gel crutch tips and they offer a great cushion for my joints as a permanent crutch user.  The performance tips are larger and heavier and are a bit overkill for me.  I am 5’7” and 145 lbs.  too so I don’t need the extra weight and endurance of the performance tips.  The Tornado Tips are perfect for me.
