Does this tester come with a calibration information? or certificate ?

For $29 you are not going to get much in the way of precision engineering but presuming you are using it to verify door opening force for ADA purposes, it is very easy to check. Support it in a vertical position on a firm surface then simply place an item you know is five pounds, such as a dumbell, on top of it. Used the five pound example since that is the threshold for ADA doors. You can do the same thing with objects of other weights to get a range of test points.

Does this also shut the door

No this will not shut the door. This tool is used to test the pound of pressure to push the door open or pull the door open to comply with the ADA act that a person with limited ability to open a door.

Are the marks on the gauge just a sticker or are they painted on?

They are silk-screen printed / painted on. My minor issue is the rubber o-ring to mark the door pressure. That o-ring will crack and break off over time and would need to get a replacement o-ring at the hardware store. We use this to check for door ADA compliance.

It does the job but is a tad pricey

For what it is I don't believe it to be worth the money, however because of supply and demand I would charge what I paid for it - I needed one for work to test some doors and I was limited to where to buy one and of course amazon had one. It does what it's meant todo, shame it doesn't have a hook for handles. Not the end of the world. It's small then I thought but thats better as I can just put it in my pocket.

This instrument works well. I checked it against other more sophisticated devices and the accurace is quite good. I bought it becaus it is light, easy to use and does not require batteries. I did think it had a pull hook but that is OK, you can just push from the other side
