It grinds your pepper! I love that it's not too fine and is slightly coarse and uneven. Good size for my hands too (180 cm)

I love how these look and they do a really good job of grinding the salt and pepper. I don't see any big chunks of either item. I like the quality of the product and its not too big. If you are carful you will have not problem filling them up. Its nice that I do not have to worry about them breaking as I have dropped them a couple times and they have held up so they are super durable.
