Is this too easy for a more advanced 3yo?

Yes, I would say it's perfect for a 2.5 yr old. An advance 3 yo might be a little bored.

I'm trying to decide between the little orchard, the first orchard, and the orchard, for a 3-year old birthday present. Any advice?

I only have my very first games - first orchard, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but we gave this game to our daughter at Christmas when she turned 2. We started playing it the following year between 2-3. She’s now 3 and still enjoys playing it. It’s quick, it keeps her attention and it’s easy to pick up the rules and remember them. I highly recommend it - really fun!

Are the fruits and basket made our of wood?

The basket is card board box. But the Fruits and Crow are made of wood. It is a well made game. The cardboard parts are not flimsy. We have used it frequently my Grandkids love it. I was really surprised at how nice it was when we received it. The Di is made of wood also.
