Overall great product
I just unboxed it. It did have some kind of light residue on it and a slight smell (saw the smell with some other reviews). I don't think this was a return or that it was used, I think it was just part of the manufacturing process. I took a rag and some cleaner and just wiped it down and both the slight odor and residue were gone. I would generally do this with things I buy anyway, it reminded me of the way some rubber or plastic balls have been when I purchased them in store before so I really think it's just part of the manufacturing process and not an issue. It appears partially deflated but I believe that is on purpose. The instructions that come with it say it's ready to go, so try it out that way for a week or so before you mess with the inflation. Immediately upon sitting on this in my leather office chair, I noticed it forces me to sit upright and not slouch which was one of the main reasons I got this, so success! I am also hopeful that it will work out some of these muscles that don't get a lot of use as a side benefit. It also feels comfortable to sit on. I can lean to the left or right, or wherever and feel movement and my body adjusting, so I think this is going to work great! I'll update this review if anything changes, I'm loving it so far and I think you will too! Just wipe it down when you get it, and leave it alone, try it for a week before you make any changes and go from there!

Good product, not very sturdy
Thought this would be a bit more sturdy. It works for the exercise for the ankle and foot, yet you get what you pay for I guess. Happy with the purchase as it is for a recovery of a torn calf muscle and it is not a long term need.

Nice!
The Gaiam Balance Disc Wobble Cushion is a versatile tool that adds subtle movement and core engagement whether you're sitting at a desk or using it for exercise. Itโs firm yet flexible, helping improve posture and reduce stiffness during long periods of sitting. Great for adults looking to activate their core while working, and also useful as a sensory seat for kids who benefit from gentle motion. The texture provides decent grip, and itโs easy to inflate to your preferred firmness. While it may take a few days to get used to the wobble, itโs a solid addition to any home office or classroom setup. Just be sure your chair is stable, as this cushion does encourage movement. Try it before you knock it.
Gaima has AWFUL practices. Let's start with the fact that I received a clearly used product that you are supposed to sit on. Bottom is worn, the inflation opening is scratched around the surface and the product arrived pretty heavily deflated. It seems pretty clear that somebody got the product, used it, didn't like it and returned it and Gaima then sent it to me. Extremely poor form. So, my product looks nothing like the picture because it arrive so deflated I could touch the top to the bottom. I pulled out my foot pump, attached the needle (which only by sheer persistence worked because I had to keep putting it back in the hose) and performed CPR on the pump for about 20 minutes. There must be another dimension houses within the ball because air was going out of the pump, it wasn't leaking out of the ball or the hose and the ball didn't inflate one bit. I chalked it up to being defective and tosses it back in the box with the idea in mind of returning it. Well, I bought the ball as part of a total-body physical therapy measure to both help me regain strength after my last surgery and to help me recover from my next surgery. I was farting around with some resistance bands I had and trying different exercises from different angles and I was having a rough time getting full range of motion on some quad and hip exercises because my legs were just a bit too long. I broke out the ball, plopped in on the chair and sat down. I'm not very heavy and I'm not very tall- 5'9" and 170 pounds. When I sat on the ball the air pressure caused by my weight caused it to raise in height several inches and straightened my back, extended my stomach and raised my knees so my thighs were parallel to the ground and my feet were flat. I instantly felt sore in my lower back and lower abdomen. It was working EXACTLY as it was supposed to. Curious, I then took it to my office chair, where I couldn't touch my heels to the ground unless I sat on the very front of the seat (which then causes me to slouch as my back rounds out to accommodate the downward slope of the seat) and puts pressure on my lower thighs (which hurts my knees because it causes my heels to hang). I plopped the ball down in my chair and sat on it. Again- spine goes straight, knees come up, thighs parallel to the ground, feet flat on the floor. Soreness in my lower back and lower core. Gaima's business practices aside, this thing works PERFECTLY. Give it an honest shot. I can't speak to how well it will work for much taller or shorter or much heavier people, but the ball I got is exactly the dimension I needed. Don't toss it before trying it, even if it looks lousy when you get it. Three stars because it works. Minus one for the condition it came in and the non-function of the inflation aspect and minus one for the fact Gaima clearly sent me a ball someone returned.

Seems to be what it says
I'm not sure what I expected, but this is exactly what it claims to be. It came partially inflated, and I bought a little hand pump that works with it fine. I've got it on my computer chair and I have yet to notice if it's helping or not. I suspect I just don't know how to use it properly since I can still find myself slouching so I am going with "operator error" on that. As for the cushion, it is a nice thick rubber, I don't feel like it will pop or be easily punctured, it has a good feel and the ribbed surface seems to keep me from sweating all over it. For me, it is a high quality cushion I can see using on any chair I decide once I figure out how it's supposed to work.

WOW! Just WOW! I was skeptical at first due to how it arrived but......
I read the instructions that came with it.. At first I said to myself "it looks really deflated and looks like I may need to put more air in it".. But then after really reading how to use it, I decided to give it a try as it stands. I had bought a back/butt support combo on Amazon because it had 30k+ reviews... I fell for that scam.. well the back cushion works but not the butt one so I searched for something else that would help as my sciatic does bother me as well as my lower back due to sitting. I'm glad I gave the Gaiam cushion a try. I was going to originally invest in the Gaiam Ball Chair but after seeing all the mixed reviews that it might come with the wrong CM size ball I didn't want to deal with that headache. The cushion disc version actually works PERFECT! I mean I literally put this on my chair sat on it according to the instructions to make sure you are 90 degree positioned and found myself typing this long review with absolutely no pain! I know that this may sound like a sales pitch kinda review but it's not. After suffering with sciatic pain for the past year and lower back pains...this definitely takes it all away as you sit! I strongly suggest this if you are looking for better posture and most importantly pain relief! The best part...it's inexpensive ;)

Works very well
I believe this has improved my posture by making me sit up straight and not slouch. I have back and neck issues, and find that I am not as sore as I used to be, and I believe it's because I have to sit straight up, which gives me better balance. I would highly recommend trying this item. I would order it again.

Not a very useful cushion
Didn't really work for me. Did not like that I have to inflate it but not sure what gadget to use to inflate it, so currently works as a leg rest for me as was not comfortable on my chair.
