Unexpected Benefit - Uses Less Cat Food!
I apparently missed it on the Amazon page, but in the box containing the bowls was a small information card. My cat somehow doesn't know how to, or doesn't like to use her teeth to pick up food. She just licks (dry) pieces of food until they wind up in her mouth. Then she chews. Oh she'll bite things like rubber toys, or my fingers every so often, but licks food. I bought these bowls mostly because of the ridges around the sides. I figured they would help keep food from ending up on the floor. Then I learned about "whisker fatigue," which I'd never heard of. These bowls are really well made! I had thought about another type of raised bowl that's tiled and a partially enclosed sphere. Then I saw one at Walmart and it's just too small. I also bought the little table because this little lady is 14 years old, and although she's running all over the place, I figure she could use a break on the whiskers, and likely also having to always bend down to eat. She seems to like the whole system! The first thing I did was wash out the new bowls, then transferred the food from her main bowl. I was astonished to see just how much food I've been laying out each day! I don't know cats, and so we just used a small plastic bowl. It looked very small, and I'd pour out maybe 1/3 of the bowls for her dry food. (She also gets actual nourishment from other foods.) What I'd thought was a small amount turned out to be massive! Then I read the little insert in the box. Cat Guru points out that the design of these bowls provides room for 1 day worth of food, to help with weight management! Holy Cow! I apparently have been putting out three days worth of food! I've also been aware of the cost of all this food, being on a tight budget myself! Wow! The verdict? Excellent bowls! The little ridges help keep food in the bowl, sliding back down the sides after she licks at, it sending up those sides. It also allows her little face into the bowl so she can actually pick up food or treats directly. Maybe she does know how to use her teeth, but couldn't get her mouth all in the previous bowls. They're nice and solid, and don't slide around on the floor or on the little table. Very well made, and this little kitten had no problem at all taking to each bowl right away. Now I'll see how much longer a single bag of dry food actually lasts! And BTW; when you look down into the bowl from the top, it looks like a bullseye target. It's entirely easy to see that filling the center (smallest) circle with food will a) be plenty, and b) work as a visual measuring "cup." Perfect!

Good Buy
Easy to clean and no whisker fatigue (if that’s a real thing). The cats love it and I love how easy it is to clean. The material is strong and doesn’t seem like it will break easily. They look nice, too. Happy with the purchase.

Great price, great quality, and perfect for canned cat food
I love these. I have alway strive to use ceramic or stainless steel for my cat food and water dishes (germs and odors become embedded in porous plastic materials), but I didn't have good options for the wet food. My other issues were that I wanted something slightly elevated, something that wouldn't slide across the floor, and I needed FOUR small dishes in order to feed each of my cats their canned cat food simultaneously. These criterion were making other options I considered ridiculously expensive! Then I saw these and thought, OK, they aren't ceramic or steel, but melamine might be an acceptable option. Because they came in a two-pack and the price was reasonable, I decided to give it a try, or rather, Santa Claws decided to bring them for Christmas. I am so glad I decided to give them a chance. The material is perfect— it is so easy to clean and will be incredibly durable. As shown in one of the photos, each dish has a little cut-out on one side, so it is easy to lick the up and hold on to them. The rim of the bottom of the dishes has a black, rubber-type material to keep them from sliding on the floor and so they won't scratch the floor. They don't rise very much off the floor, but my cats seem to think it's the perfect height: for the ones who like to crouch while they eat, they still can, but if they don't want to bend their legs, they don't have to. At first sight, I didn't think the ridges in the dish were pronounced enough to be efficient, but they actually work very well. With the exception of my youngest cat who seems to like imitating a hog at a trough sometimes, my cats no longer have bits of their food all over the floor; instead, they are more easily able to eat it from the dish. I think even if price was no option, I would not choose a different kind of dish, these are perfect.

Better
I bought this for my kitten who just learned to eat on her own. I had a regular ceramic cat plate that had high edges so food would get stuck and she had a hard time. So I found these! Although they’re nice and big, they’re deep as well, food still goes to the edge and falls over. No big deal but it’s a lot better than having a high edge where she couldn’t maneuver to reach it. Also super cute color!

perfection!!
LIFESAVER! Loveee that they're dish washable. I put them on top rack and they've held up so well - literally such nice quality. I love the design of it with the rubber at the bottom and of course the low bowl design helps my kitty so much. And the pink is so cute. Highlyyy recommend!! getting a pack of 2 is perfect too - so you only have to wash in dishwasher at night. only thing I would change is I wish it was microwave safe because sometimes I heat her food for like 5-10 seconds but yeah.

Great Cat Bowls!
I was hoping to find less expensive cat dishes made of unbreakable plastic because if I forget to bring them in at night, raccoons get to them and can damage or carry off the bowl. After trying several other cat dishes that were cheaper and flat bottomed, I noticed the cats had trouble mouthing the kibble into their mouths—especially as pieces got shoved over to the rim. It seemed they had a much easier time eating if the food was piled high rather than flat. So I bit the bullet and sprung for these more expensive bowls. They are heavy duty plastic and the ridges in the bowl do a good job of keeping the kibble stacked in the center. It seems the cats eat more of their food in this bowl—probably because it’s less effort to get it into their mouths. I got two bowls but bought only one “stand” to compare side by side to see if the cats preferred to eat from an elevated bowl or not. I was also hoping it would prevent the puking-after-eating issue, but, alas, my cats preferred not having their bowl raised and favored eating it at ground level. I like that there is a cutout at the bottom side of the bowl to help for lifting it up. (Maybe two or more of those cutouts would make it easier yet for grabbing up—I offer as a suggestion for the manufacturer.) And I like the light color bowl because it does not get as hot in the sun as a dark one would. I liked these bowls so much I bought two more. I definitely recommend them.

Great bowls, but perhaps not a good fit for my cats' overly-playful personalities.
I love these feeding bowls. The food is much more accessible for the sake of whiskers and to avoid the "empty bowl" conundrum. Great quality material (I got the ceramic variant), nice little bit of weight & grippy non-skid bottom make them sit firm. I also really appreciate that they're dishwash-safe, and the notch makes them easy to pick up. Unfortunately my cats are inexplicably far more interested in playing with the food than eating it, making a mess that not even the feeding mat can contain. Hopefully this is just because it's a brand-new novelty to them, but I might have to return for that reason alone. I would recommend using a regular dinner plate your feline friends a sort of trial/preview to the shallow form-factor before ordering-- because I had no idea my cats would suddenly decide that food was a plaything when exposed like this. Hopefully this behavior subsides before the return window closes.

Works GREAT! Highly recommend
Thanks for this bowl :) my baby refuses ALL canned wet food & doesn’t drink much water, but she loves to eat dry food mixed with water/broth. For years we have struggled with bowls that are too deep, the outer rims too tall, and kibbles sliding to the sides of the bowl. This made it difficult for her to enjoy meals. With the CatGuru bowls, those days are no more! They have the perfect amount of depth as to hold all food in the middle, and the circular ridges keep it from sliding away. There are no outer rims, so my cat’s whiskers never touch the bowl. No more sliding kibbles- your cat gets every last bite with ease. I got the Aruba color. The food-safe, BPA-free melamine material feels similar to porcelain or ceramic BUT IT ISNT. It has a slight weighted feel to it, and some gripping material at the bottom of the bowl. It’s very easy to clean. CatGuru also sells elevated tables (SOLD SEPERATELY- NOT INCLUDED) for the food bowls to sit on top of, which I also bought to go along with this. SO IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING…. Yes, these bowls fit inside those little tables. It arrived quickly & in perfect condition as well. Cute packaging and little business cards come with. Very happy with my purchase
