Great product! There are small holes on the ends so shrimp can get in, but too small for snails. I did not experience any tannin increase. It took much less time for them to sink to the bottom of the tank as opposed to other logs I have purchased. I don't understand the reviews complaining about them molding. They very easily grow biofilm, which shrimp love to eat. My shrimp love to hide in them.

These are awesome and at a great price. So far, after day one putting them in the fish tank, only one piece of Choya wood has naturally sank to the bottom. It is surprising as other reviews claimed it to take up to three months although I am still waiting on one more to sink because I put one initially under a rock and allowed two others to float just to test how long it takes for them to sink to the bottom. I would recommend this product because it is at a decent, fair price and the quality is outstanding. Update: They all sank to the bottom of the aquarium within 72 hours with minimal tannin leakage. These were the smaller 6" three pack. Update 2: After having a wonderful experience with the smaller ones, I decided to get the larger 12" XL and wow, such great quality and the diameter was surprisingly large but still thick. These have heavy tannin leakage and will take about 2 weeks to sink by themselves, but you do need to keep these fully submerged to get them to sink faster (same with the smaller driftwood). These XL versions are highly recommended if you have the space but if not you could simply cut them with a circular or table saw (the latter is preferred). The price is pretty high for the larger driftwood pieces but well worth it in the long run. Very nice, natural aesthetics.

make sure you soak them and get the gunk out before putting them in your tank!

This item is perfect for my 10 gallon aquarium. I’ve been taking my time putting it together because I want a very natural look/feel and this fits what I wanted perfectly. I soaked these in water for about an hour before adding them into the tank. One piece did get that slime mentioned in some of the other comments but it was easy enough to rinse off and pop back in the tank. I don’t have any fish in yet so I can’t say if it’ll have any effect on your fish. The only reason why didn’t give a 5 star review is because mine didn’t sink down and they’ve been in the tank 6 days. Quick and easy solution is to just put gravel inside and it stays down where you want it. I’m pretty happy with it so far

I am so pleased with my teddy cholla. This thing is large and clean and beautiful and…currently floating in my tank. It will sink, not my first rodeo. Give it time. My future shrimp are going to be in heaven. Great value. A+ quality.

Not much to say, good sticks with holes, my plecos and shrimp seem to love being on them. They look good and are small enough to fit nearly all tanks, good quality bits of wood and worth the money. I will say unlike some other aquarium wood this does need to soak a while before it will sink and not just float to the top.

OMGOSH! ALL of my shrimp love this. My large African fan shrimp live to hide inside of it. The inside is large enough for my 2 year old (4 inches long and fairly wide) to snuggle up in and relax. My red cherry shrimp and my bright yellow shrimp lay their eggs in there and it is the perfect hiding spot away from the few guppies I have left in this tank. ALL of my shrimp love this. I'm.ordering another one. Its fantastic for creating biofilm, and looks awesome! I'll update my review with photos later when I am home. GET THIS IF YOU HAVE SHRIMP! Get this if u have shrimp!
