I mainly wanted the buffer, but bought this set as the cost of the buffer and cuticle cream together was virtually the same price as the set which also includes replacement buffer pads and a nail file. The buffer is brilliant! My nails are damaged from many years of wearing acrylics, and despite not wearing them now for some 4+ years they haven't fully recovered. My nails are heavily ridged and have splits along the some of the ridge lines. They are also very dry and dull. I have used other cheaper buffers in the past from time-to-time and whilst they work to a point, none are anywhere near as effective as this Onsen buffer, which is 100% better. I used the buffer for the first time yesterday and today my nails are still super smooth and shiny and look so much healthier. I appreciate my nails aren't 'cured' as such and will likely need ongoing buffing etc., but that's fine and a price I'm willing to pay. I am very impressed with the buffer and highly recommend it for nails like mine. Even if your nails are OK the buffer is worth buying just for using the shinning side! As for the cuticle cream, although my cuticles are fine, I've rubbed it into my nails as the cream says it nourishes the nail if used regularly - I'll have to wait and see on that. The cream is light, non-greasy and pretty much disappears once rubbed it, and is pleasant to use. So, overall I highly recommend this set, especially the buffer. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it works very well!

I Really like the buffer - especially the fact that you can replace the buffing strips. I haven't had it long enough to know how long they last. Nails look good after just one treatment although I have 1 nail with bad ridges that will t a few more goes but I don't want to damage the nail by being too harsh. Cuticle cream seems good too. I'm not to keen on the nail file (although that wasn't why I bought the kit) as it is quite course - I did a quick sweep over my nails and I left a few raggedy bits. But I think it would be good if you were having to file your nails down. Overall I would recommend.

I do not normally leave reviews, but I am a believer. This product not only transformed my hands and nails, I no longer feel ashamed by the appearance of my scruffy, dry, flaking cuticles and chipped, weak and broken nails. My nails are stronger, nail beds pink and healthy with perfect hydrated cuticles. I am sorry I didn’t do a before and after, having tried numerous nail products over the years, I never expected this simple routine to work.

I think this is a great product! I’ve only been using this for just under a week and it’s improved my nails considerably. I’m very pleased 😀

Cuticle oil, a file and a buffer, with spare pads. All ok, but over priced for what they are in my opinion.

I have used buffers before, but this one is amazing the shine has lasted a whole week, the ridges have all been buffed out, meaning hard as nails polish just glides on - the nail file is the smoothest i’ve ever used - no torn or jagged bits left. O was really dubious but im so glad i gave it a go- i will only use this forward - has repaired the damage that gel nails have done to my nails - im sure if i stop using it the damaged ridges nails will be back, but this kit polishes all the that damage out.

Makes a really nice gift - especially as ive been using it myself for more than a year and know it is brilliant.

I will continue to buy these. They put a nice shine on your nails. Much better then the rechargeable one I bought. I love this set.

Do you have splitting peeling nails and haggard cuticles? Well this kit is the cure. I had used Onsen Secret cuticle cream before and was very pleased with the how creamy and effective the product was. So I decided to give this kit a shot. I love wearing nail polish. But the polish would only last one to two days because of the condition of my nails. It would peel and chip immediately. So I saw this kit and thought I would give it a try. It only takes a small amount of time to make a big impact. One day a week you use the entire kit, using the nail file (with two different grits) to shape the nail. Then you use the 3 stage buffing block to brighten, smooth and shine your nails. After that you use the nail oil or cuticle cream to give dry cuticles a nice coat of moisturizer. And finish of the routine with the anti aging hand cream. You only have to do this 1x a week. Daily maintenance is alternating between the nail oil and cuticle cream 1-2x daily. Your nails will look amazing! And if you are a nail polish lover like me, it creates a beautiful and strong substrate for your polish. My nails are beautiful with or without polish. Just from this simple little kit. I highly recommend.

I love having short nails but it's nice to make them look neat as well, I was using a clear nail polish but this is so much better! My nails are smooth and shiny, they look like they have polish on them and they are also growing like crazy. I highly recommend this kit. I've only used it twice so far and my nails look so much better.

For many years, I've kept my fingernails trimmed very short for convenience and practicality for typing, etc. With that, I haven't paid much attention to whether or not they look good. For one thing, I don't like to wear nail polish - it's messy, doesn't last, and isn't good for nail health. I've been a little jealous of my friends' nails, but a lot of them wear acrylics and I didn't want to do that, either. So, I decided to try buffing, and after some research, I ordered the Onsen Secret Japanese Nail Buffer and Shine Kit. It came yesterday, and I used it immediately: file, cuticle cream, and buffer. What a difference! It was so easy to use. The file was great - didn't leave my nails rough at all. The cuticle cream (just a tiny drop on each nailbed) was soothing and absorbed beautifully. And the buffer - WOW!!! I used it as directed, first the silver side, then the green, and then a final polishing buff with the white side. I can't believe the difference in the appearance of my nails! In less than ten minutes, they went from ridged and dull to smooth and glowing with a nice sheen! At age 72, I've finally found a nail care regimen that I not only can live with, but which really shows good results. Yes, I'll still keep my nails short, but now they can look very nice anyway. THANK YOU FOR THIS PRODUCT! I will use it faithfully from here on out. (I wish I had taken a "before" picture of my nails so you could really see the difference this product has made with just ONE use!)

I have nails that are thinnest tissue paper – and unless I’m gonna get them done with a gel or an acrylic coating – I might as well not have any fingernails at all. They just break, crack, split, and just generally look like I don’t care. The fact of the matter is I do care about my hands and the way they look. I don’t have to look fancy, but I do like to look maintained. I read an article about something called a Japanese manicure. When I went to the salon to ask about a Japanese manicure – the little Vietnamese lady just shrugged and said, she knew. So I went online and did a little more digging to learn about a Japanese manicure. Then I came to Amazon to see what products they had. That could help me towards getting nicer, looking nails using a Japanese manicure. This is what I stumbled on. I made the purchase. I have been happily using this product for a very long time. This particular order was a gift for a friend who has nails very similar to mine, being she’s in the beauty business, and her hands are always in chemicals, I got her this product as a gift I hope she likes it as much as I like mine. If you follow the instructions, it’s very easy to use and to do. And I love it. I did not expect that my nails would get as strong as they have. I’m not putting any chemicals on them. But I am paying attention to them in a way that I probably never paid attention to them before and I’m keeping them filed and buffed and cuticles oiled and moisturized. Except for the first few weeks, you don’t have to do something to your nails every single day. I’m at the point now or once a week , I make it a point to sit down when I watch a particular TV show on Friday evenings and that’s when I do my maintenance with the product on my nails. I can actually go for two weeks or more without really having to watch my nails closely. And believe me, if I go a little too long, my nails, do crack if I bump them into something. Then I have to tidy them up and start the process all over my weekly routine. What I like is that I don’t spend hours in the salon getting nails done that only last me two weeks. I’m not constantly with my hands and UV dryers or getting chemicals put on them. And it’s a whole lot less expensive than buying this set once and it lasts months. Call me surprised! Call me pleased! And call me saving money I love all three of those try it I think you’ll love it! Oh, and if you do wanna polish, your own nails, just scuff the tops of your nails, a little bit, apply your favorite polish And go to whatever party or event that you’re going to. And in a day or two later when you want to take the polish off do it and just make sure your nails are filed buffed and your cuticles oiled and you’ll pick up right where you left off. Great product and I love it.
