Worth its weight!
After 39 years in the ministry, I needed a refresher course, and this book fills the bill! A wide variety of authors gives many perspectives instead of one author. It covers the gamut of the preaching process and the preacher's life. I plan to use it as the primary text in a preaching course this fall. The approach is practical and Christ-centered.

One of the most comprehensive books on preaching there is.
With over 100 contributors, including pastors and theologians of different denominations, this is one of the most comprehensive books on preaching there is. The down side is, each contributor pretty much writes 1-10 pages of materials, so many discuss the same thing, and some even contradict each other. However, the book is called Art and Craft, and as such, everyone is entitled to their own opinion on what is effective. It is up to the reader to decide what they should incorporate. I actually really appreciate this approach - instead of telling me that things should be done in this way, it presented me with several options, and let me decide what best suited me

Excellent advice and instruction on every chapter I've read thus far. It amazes myself. I definitely recommend this book to all aspiring preachers and teachers of the gospel. I feel led to bless my fellow ministerial staff with book because I sincerely believe they will be extremely informed and blessed as I have been so far.

Great book
I love this book. I bought for my class but plan to read it for yours to come. I bought both the hard copy and Kindle version. Good resources to read now and later. Chapters are independent from each other and can be read randomly.

Practical and a well of resources
Bought this for my Homiletics class and found it to be very comprehensive and full of ideas. As preaching is more of an 'Art' as the title suggests, the diversity of inputs is greatly appreciated and is invaluable to finding a style that suits me and also to learn from where others have found success. Highly recommended.

This is an absolute textbook that any preacher should have.
Robinson and Larson are amazing in this textbook. When my pastor found out that I neede it for college he said, "Bruce, I taught hermeneutics for five years its the best out there.

Comprehensive range of articles for biblical preachers
This is a brilliant collection of articles on preaching by a wide range of authors. It even comes with an audio cd for illustration of some of the points raised. The articles are arranged into categories so it is easy to pick and choose what you want to read. An excellent book for anyone who wants to revisit the whole theme of biblical preaching, and an absolute must if you are teaching others to preach.
