SLICK STUFF
Great seller, superfast prime ship and spot on oil and needle bottle. Worked perfect on my clocks. remember even electric clocks need oiling once in a while.

Does the job
I use this on my antique Black Forest clock, brought it for an IdleTyme rolling ball clock at the Veterans’ Home, and got my mother one for her cuckoo clock. Very reliable. Comes with a long needle to reach in and get the inner gears without pulling anything apart. Needle can also help pull out debris in the gears while you’re at it. Doesn’t get sticky even after years of use in my antique clock.

>> DOES THE JOB
> The applicator worked well, depositing a small drop exactly where I wanted it. However, according to various websites, any synthetic oil (including auto motor oil) will do for cuckoo clocks, and can just as easily be applied with a toothpick. TIPS ON OILING CUCKOO CLOCKS > A major enemy of any clock (or computer, for that matter) is dust -- especially when you add oil which attracts dust and turn it into a grit in the bearings. So first thoroughly blow any dust away with canned air. A small brush is helpful for dislodging thick accumulations. Some folks use mini-vacuum cleaners, but canned air works fine. > Move the various levers and connectors to find additional moving surfaces on the clock mechanism which move, and therefore need oiling. > Let the oil soak in for a while -- at least 5 minutes, and then wipe any excess. Q-Tips are helpful for this. > Run the clock to move the oil around. If the clock runs a minute or so and stops, a little extra weight on the drive weights may get it going, but remove the extra weights after a few hours -- don't use extra weight permanently. USING WD40 INSTEAD > Unfortunately, oiling the accessible bearing points did not work for my clock. It would have been necessary to also oil the bearing surfaces on the face side of the clock, which would have required major disassembly of my clock. Ultimately, I choose against major disassembly and instead sprayed the clock mechanism with WD40. Theoretically, that's NOT a good idea. Oil attracts dust, which hypothetically will be "dragged" into the bearing surfaces, and become an abrasive grit. Moreover, WD40 is a very thin oil, theoretically a thicker oil will protect the surfaces better. But, clock gears don't move fast -- it's not like an electric motor. In actual practice, the lighter oil may work just as well. > To use WD40, first thoroughly clean the clock with canned air. Carefully, and sparingly, spray the mechanism with WD40. Be careful not to spray the bellows. Maybe set the clock on the face so some of the oil will get to less accessible bearing surfaces on the far side of the clock. Let the oil soak in for a while -- I suggest 1/2 hour. Blow away excess oil with canned air. Wipe away any additional oil you can with Q-Tips, etc. > Fortunately, WD40 is such a light oil that the excess oil will eventually evaporate. The oil in the bearing surfaces (not in contact with open air) will evaporate much more slowly -- probably over many years.

fantastic product
my choo choo clock stopped playing music until the chimes came half way down and the time kept running slow then fast.I remembered a clock maker telling me it should be oiled occasionally.im not the greatest fixer upper but I checked on line how to do this and found liberty oil on line.I took a chance and purchased a bottle.it was so easy to use.I took the weights off and took the clock down and opened the back.with the needle in the oil I put a small amount on every moving part.it took about 5 minights.I then put the clock back on the wall the chimes back on the clock and set the time.to my surprise it worked perfect.I monitored the clock over the next day and it works better then ever and now keeps almost perfect time.liberty oil is great and worth the money.it also should last many years as you use very little oil

Works well
I have a relatively simple hubert herr cuckoo clock from the 70s that stopped cuckooing each hour. Took out the movement, oiled each little cup area and other shaft points, put it back together and works like new again.

Had ordered the item to lubricate my Swiss Cuckoo clock mechanism by Regula. The item came very well packed inside a hard box. The bottle itself was sealed in an airtight plastic packet. There was no leakage. The nozzle dispenses oil in a controlled, small quantity as required for delicate watch parts. Long nozzle helps to reach all pivoting parts inside the clock. Very very small quantity is required for lubricating, should last as long as the clock mechanism!

Tenía un cucú que se comenzó a atorar un poco después de décadas de uso, y la solución fue este aceite que tiene un aplicador que facilita su uso. Muy recomendable, y solo necesitas un poco.

This product was used on a 1982 grandfather clock and 1983 wall clock. Both finally worked like new using this oil after years trying another brand. Customer service excellent and responded quickly

Oil is excellent for watch and fine machine oiling. The dispenser is nice and easy to use for hard-to-reach places. Quite expensive!!! This will last many years though!
