This is a great value because you get 5 pieces--3 brushes, a massager and the handle. If you're wondering why to do dry brushing, it stimulates lymph flow, which is good for your health, and also helps exfoliate the skin, so you don't get scaly, peeling skin. I always feel better after I use my body brush each morning, which I have been doing for years. The handle of my old body brush is wood, which was all that was available when I bought it years ago. I like the fact that the handles of this set are bamboo, which is more sustainable than wood and very attractive. I am still using my old body brush but my husband needed a new one. And I wanted to give the face brushes in this set a try. I just love the face brushes! I'd never tried a face brush to wash my face and this one is so soft that it doesn't hurt my broken nose (I fell and broke my nose a couple of weeks ago and any slight touch hurts my nose). It is so much softer than using a washcloth, which is all that I had used in the past. It also easily removes the tinted sunscreen I apply where I cut my nose and had to get stitches. (I was told I need to use sunscreen for 6 months so the scar doesn't get sunburned.) I don't wear makeup but I would imagine that it would also easily remove makeup, without a lot of scrubbing. I also like the exfoliating face brush because using that means I don't have to keep spending money buying an exfoliating scrub for my face. My husband likes harder body brushes than me, and the brush he used wore out. It literally had no bristles left after years of use. So he was using an old one we had in the closet but it was made with plant fiber which was rapidly falling out and breaking off. We were going to have to buy him a better brush and I thought this might work for him. Here is his review of it: "I have used some body brushes with bristles so soft, one wonders if they are doing any good. Other natural (plant) bristles are so hard, one has to gradually work their way up to using them on the whole body. The natural boar bristles of this brush seem to have the right firmness to scrub and stimulate the skin, while not being too harsh as to need a gradual break-in period for the body. The bamboo handle and backside of the brush are well polished and smooth, so no worry about wooden splinters or rough surfaces. I like that the bristles are mounted with a plastic base to the front surface of the bamboo head. This is more hygienic than mounting them directly to a wooden head and easier to clean. I would expect the plastic base to withstand more washings than a (porous) wooden base. Finally, the brush head has an additional canvas strap on the back. One can slip the strap over the back of the hand and brush the top and middle body parts securely and completely to one’s satisfaction. I highly recommend this body brush." The only negatives of this set is that the brush section of the face brush fell out of the handle and my husband had to re-glue it. Also, there is a section of the massager head on the side where the bamboo is a little bit bumpy and rough, though that doesn't affect the usefulness of it. All the other pieces are totally smooth and perfect.

Long Review below: Since using this kit regularly for at least 5 months it's been a big help. I would love to see a few other pieces included to increase its value; however what I have is a great place to start. Each brush has a different function as well as size. The larger brush with medium stiff bristles with a protective plastic barrier is about 5 L x 2.75 W. The plastic is a useful feature helping to protect the wood from rot during gentle cleaning with a makeup brush mat. The straps are made of a durable cotton canvas but since they are too big for my small hands I put 3 fingers through the loop to adjust for that with my pinky outside. The nubby brush works well for reducing cellulite in the hips, rear and thigh area with long term use. Both brushes can be snuggly attached to the 14 in long wooden handle to extend the reach behind the back. For more humid areas the varnished wood can swell due to humidity so place the whole thing in a freezer for up to 30 mins and the cold will reduce the size so they can be pulled apart safely without damaging the tools. Using a softer brush in delicate areas like: elbows, armpits, behind the knees, face and neck is great in the beginning using light strokes while observing how your skin reacts during and after use. If this is tolerated well simply increase how often they are used per week. Having a full body routine is the most beneficial. Doing this on dry skin lasting about 25-30 mins. Afterwards to finish I gently bounce on the ball joints of both feet pumping with my calf muscles to eliminate impurities inside for 15-20 seconds as an extra benefit for well being. Then shower within 15 mins to wash off any loose, dead skin that will help prevent clogged pores. Doing this regularly has helped eliminate those red bumps in the back of both of my arms completely from excess Keratin and nearly eliminated any ingrown hairs from shaving. It's also improved my skin tone, circulation, and lymphatic build up but I also use a more rigorous blended method which might not work for everyone. Using light scented lotion, coconut oil or shea butter after showering helps moisturize and soften skin. If the brush is used too harshly it can cause micro scratches or other issues with the blood vessels under the skin. Be patient, take time to learn this and the long term benefits are worth it. The last picture is a side by side of what I had finished brushing on the left side of my body after a few minutes and the other which I did last. I generally start left side and then the right side. Section by section after using instruction videos I found online which I now have a blended technique of my own from dry brushing, gua sha, and lymphatic to increase my personal self care.

I am so pleased with this dry brush set that I have already recommended it to others. The one star off should really just be a half star because instructions on how to care for the brushes would be helpful. Other than that, though, they are great! (Like a few others, I have mixed feelings on the “facial” brushes, but read on.) First of all, the set is as it appears. You get all those brushes for an excellent price. (I’ve seen the same price for just *one* brush, or only one with or without a handle.) The brushes are very good quality in every way, i.e., the wood is good quality, the woven fabric straps are well made and firmly attached, the brush appears to be well fastened into the wood, the brush fibers themselves are awesome. I have been using these brushes every night for a month and they have not shed a single bristle. I think the way the extension handle fits onto the brushes is quite clever. I worry that it will eventually wear out and become loose, but so far, so good. (PS. If the brush comes off the handle when you’re using it, you just haven’t pushed it far enough on.) I’m unsure about the facial brushes. The soft, white-bristled brush feels like heaven because it’s SO soft. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet been able to figure out how to use it other than just brushing my skin with as a form of petting (?). It doesn’t scrub at all. I tried using it wet, but that just makes it mushy. It won’t even push cleanser around. I think I’ll be able to find a use for it, but it won’t be for exfoliating. The brown face brush is way too stiff for my face, personally. It’s no biggie. I use rice water on my face for exfoliating anyway. I use this particular brush for my feet (because, even though my feet are clean, I don’t really want to use the same brush for feet and body.) It tickles and also feels great. [If you are an older person, you already know—message to you youngsters out there—you need to take care of your feet (skin) just like the rest of your body. LSS, you will be sorry if you don’t.] I LOVE the body brush itself!! The kit comes with a little card showing how to use it, but there’s also plenty of info on the subject on the internet. I can quickly switch between no handle and handle as I go through the process, and easily reach all the places. I do it before I take a shower and I instantly noticed that I feel cleaner after my shower than I used to. I appreciate that it stirs up my circulation on the surface of my skin (another issue for us old people). After just a few uses, I noticed that my skin was much smoother and seemed to absorb my after shower lotion more smoothly. Oh! Almost forgot! The little rubber nubby “brush” can also be used with the extension handle, though I’m not sure if you can get enough pressure to use it for massage. I use it for my hips and thighs when applying cellulite cream. Thus far, my cellulite maintains its resistance, but I shall not give up! If nothing else, my hips get a nice massage. All in all—sorry so long—I highly recommend this product.

An excellent tool for home use as a body exfoliation treatment. The brush bristles are soft and it's of very good quality.

These brushes are easy to use. The handle is the perfect size, durable and sturdy doesn't break. The bristles are soft just right for exfoliating. it is easy for me to grip and scrub to keep my skin healthy and relieve my lipedema systems.

Some may like the softness of the bristles of this brush, I was looking for something much stiffer.
