Can i drill 1” diameter in to concrete?? I need to anchor rebar

I don't know as I've only drilled 1/2" and 3/4" holes, but think that it should as it drills concrete like butter (when using a good bit). Everyone who sees me use this drill for concrete has been impressed, with one person buying one after seeing mine.

What country is makita xrh08z made in?

China . As are most all makita tools now(sadly). They were much better when made in Japan . Still great tools . Just not as good as they used to be.

does this come with the case?

Depends on which one you buy. The bare tool comes with no case. Ensure in the description it says with a case, otherwise it might not come with one.

What size of hex is it for the drill bit

The short answer is SDSplus. It’s not rated as a standard socket. EG 10mm or 3/4 inch per say. There are four standard sizes of SDS: SDS Quick, SDS-plus (or SDSplus or SDS+), SDS-Top and SDS-max. This unit is SDSplus. Physically there are size differences in the masonry bits. SDS Plus have a 10mm shank, while the SDS Max has an 18mm. This means that SDS Max bits have an increased capability for tougher masonry work, withstanding more torque and force. Hopefully this will help.

Works better than my corded drill

Power from the 2x 18V batteries is better than my corded SDS drill. It’s super convenient, very powerful, and more compact than my rear handled corded version. Battery life also seems excellent Very happy. My only potential complaint is that its somewhat heavy with two batteries. But ultimately, its not really an issue.

Is not as heavy as people think it is when loaded with both batteries.

The power is definitely there. I used this tool with a 1ft long by 3/4 masonry bit to pre-drill holes for camera install.
