Smart Planet HDT‐1S Peanuts Snoopy Hot Dog Toaster, Red

I have this hot dog toaster and have a couple as gifts for the holidays. It was a hit at our gift exchange. Kid friendly too!

I bought this for my husband as a welcome home gift. I absolutely hate hot dogs and thought this would be a good way for him to enjoy them without using one of my pots or the microwave to make the house stink. It works great. It comes apart making it easy to clean and the hot dogs turn out to my husband's liking. You may have to toast the buns more than once if you are like my husband who used sour dough and pretzel rolls. Common sense, but I will say it anyways, don't use frozen hot dogs. The product looks exactly as it is pictured.

Fantastic gift!! However low settings did not work for the hot dogs or buns. Make sure to put it on the higher settings - may burn them, but cooks it well and totally worth it!!

Back in the days of SkyMall, I always joked that I was going to order a hot dog toaster; the airplane catalog was the only place I'd ever seen one. A couple of weeks ago, my husband was microwaving a hot dog and said "We should have ordered that hot dog toaster." So, I shopped around and not only found one at a good price, but also one with Snoopy on it. And really, what isn't improved by Snoopy? So I ordered it. Super-easy to use and clean, the toaster makes two hot dogs and toasts two buns at the same time. The toaster comes with hot dog tongs. You will need to experiment with the heat level and number of times you toast the items to get the degree of heat you or your kids prefer (we're still figuring it out). The cleaning tray slides out to remove crumbs and drippings.

Totally a piece of junk! Average sized buns would not fit so they could not pop up and the hot dogs were regular sized and they barely fit! I used it for the fist and only time and the buns started burning and the machine was NOT on high. Tried to push the STOP button and that did not work. Had to pull the plug to get the buns up so I could remove them. Was sorely disappointed in the item and I was truly looking forward to getting it. Buyer beware.

I got this for my husband as a gift. He was excited about it, but we didn't realize what a fiasco it was to use it and clean it. The buns didn't fit in the bun toasting part (small, regular, grocery store buns) and were burned all over the inside of the toasting mechanism. Because the bun was burned all over the inside, it needed to be cleaned. We cleaned off what we could and then wrapped it back up in the box to leave on the shelf. We will never use it again and just show it off to people who ask about it sometimes.

So cute and cooks my hotdogs perfectly! My buns are toasted lovely too ;)

Very Cheaply made unit. We were hoping for the best from this unit, however like other reviewers, found it looks nice, but is cheaply made. We also found that you have to do the Hot Dogs twice, once without the buns, and the second time with the buns. Also not pictured is the cord, which is on the front side with the snoopy, where as it would be better on the rear side so little hands don't pull the cord. If you look at my pictures you will see the mess which is almost impossible to clean up. The bread burnt to the sides and lots of clean up did not get it cleaned up. We intend to send it back with the mess after cleaning still attached as cleaning did not help. The power cord is just below Snoopy, not pictured in the vendors photos.
