It states the 4 electric sockets can be "controlled independently". This is only true if you use the SmartLife app. I bought this to use with Alexa, thinking each sockrlet would be controlled, but Alexa only recognize it as one device, and turns them all on or off. Kind of useless if you have several devices to control at different times. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hyleton Surge Protector Smart Power Strip is very good *by D***G on Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2019* Hyleton Surge Protector Smart Power Strip is very good. The only thing I don't like is the socket dust protection. They are not the manual slide covers found on other power strips. They work fine for grounded plugs, but not for the 2 conductor polarized plugs.I had to insert a small phillips screwdriver into the ground lug hole to open the slots in order for me to insert the polarized cords. Maybe they will loosen after many uses, but I plan on keeping the cords plugged in and will never know. It also took 2 attempts to connect to the smart life App. Even the second time it said it failed, but Alexa popped up a message about the the smart strip so I knew it was successful. I was only able to turn the entire strip on and off with Google and Alexa at first, but a little while later the 4 sockets showed up and I was then able to use voice commands on them as well. There is also a time delay after changing the names of sockets for them to show up in both systems. Google was the first to show all the sockets in the Home APP and Alexa a short time later. Overall I am very happy as this replaced 3 separate smart sockets I had been using behind the table. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Be Sure To Press & Hold Down The Power Button *by S***W on Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2019* These strips were very easy to setup and work beautifully! Just be sure you press and hold down the power button on it for several seconds until it starts flashing blue, THEN connect it in the Smart Life app choosing "multi socket", and individually name the four switches on it by tapping the very small pen icon out to the right of each switch. They are defaulted to SWITCH 1, SWITCH 2, SWITCH 3 and SWITCH 4. Alexa does not recognize them as a "socket", so use the term "switch" if you don't rename them yourself. "Alexa, turn on switch 2" etc.Make sure you've enabled and authorized the Smart Life app in your Alexa app first, under the "skills and games" section.
