2Pcs Alligator Clip Test Leads 14 AWG Heavy Duty Silicone Jumper Wires 3 Ft

I am very pleased to have found a very nice set of test leads / clip leads which can handle a few amps. Up to this point, I've always had to just make my own. The older I get, the more I appreciate someone else doing the little "piddly" things like making clip lead assemblies. From what I can tell so far, these leads are a very acceptable substitute for the quality that I can make myself, and at this price, is much more affordable than the time I'd take to make them. They are very flexible with seemingly high-quality wire, the clips are nice and strong, and the build quality is excellent. They worked fine on a few projects I've used them on so far. If I ever need more, I'd not hesitate to purchase these again.

I've been looking for some heavy duty and durable alligator clips for doing circuit tests as a mechanic. These work perfectly and handle much more current than all the tiny ones sold elsewhere. I'd say they are well worth the prices since before I had these I'd typically go through a set or two a day of the small ones. The small clips are fine for very small things but If I'm trying to jump a fuel pump or something like that they just don't cut it like these ones do.

For the price the quality is very good. Easy to use with larger gauge wire. They work well and the clips are strong.

These are almost $4 each with tax but worth it. Finally something decent that will handle 120 volts if you need to. The quality of jumpers has really gone done since I used them 40 years ago. The cheap ones have narrow alligator clips twist inside the thin insulated boots. I have difficulty using the cheap ones. These are wide, have a solid boot that isn't going anywhere. The boot has a split in it allowing it to pass over the edge of a circuit board. Great for jumping out the wires on a furnace control board. You have to slide the boot back on the cheap ones and they twist inside because they're so small and narrow. I especially like the silicone wires. Silicone is great in cold weather when regular wires don't flex well.

Why I mentioned fuel injected engines is because if you're as old as me - you'll remember the old carburated engines and how you tried to start them. They would crank and crank and crank before they'd finally fire up. Well with fuel injected engines these days you may notice they don't do that. Once you turn the key they almost instantly start up. So in my opinion the current draw to start an averaged sized engine is less and for a shorter duration than older carburated engines. I have used these to start an older F.I. car using my 12V in my lawn tractor. The draw on the tractor battery is very short (time wise) & the car starts right up. NOTE that these are NOT heavy duty jumpers - far from it, but they do work on lighter and smaller vehicles from my experience. The heat generated from trying to start a larger sized engine either F.I. or carb, could possibly cause a fire and/or melt the cable, so IMO I would use these cafefully.
