My poor dog went sliding down the stairs one too many times along with a few humans. Being in an older house with brand new hard wood floors the steps are short, steep, and slick. After wearing dog booties for a couple weeks they started to irritate my dogs feet and i knew i needed to do something. I was at my wits end carrying my german shepherd down the stairs and seriously considering laying carpet and tack strips into my new hardwood stairs when I came across this. For weeks i looked for alternatives because i didnt want to damage the flooring. Look no further than this product. They product uses zero glue or sticky tape, the non skid pad keeps these runners in place with zero movement and they work phenomenal. Best part is they are very affordable and easily removable. I cleaned off the stairs with Bona before dropping these dudes down and i was amazed how secure they are. The only con is durability, They seems to be wearing on the edge where my dog and I step but they get a lot of traffic. For 50$ or whatever they cost ill replace them when needed, Ultimately they still looking pretty good after 6 months and function like they should. Considering I spent over 200$ on dog booties in a couple of weeks these are just awesome. My dog, girlfriend, and I would like to say thank you for making our lives safer and stress free.

These Eden Products stair treads are well made and easy to install. Straightforward instructions are included: 1) clean the surface of the steps (vacuum and wipe with a clean cloth); 2) determine the location where the treads should reside (use a yardstick or tape measure); 3) remove the backing (it peels away easily and leaves no sticky mess); and 4) apply the adhesive surface of the tread to the stairs (press the tread into place with your hands). All 15 treads were used. The leading edge of the tread was placed 1" from the edge of the step. Then the tread was centered on the step. A yardstick (1" wide) was placed along the edge of the step, which allowed a uniform appearance to be easily achieved. Centering the tread was a simple matter and was the same for all 15 steps. Complete installation took only 1 hour. Once placed, the treads have stayed in place with no slippage. They have enhanced the safety of traversing the stairs for both persons and pets. They are easily and quickly cleaned with the vacuum. The treads have greatly improved the appearance of the stairs as well. Very pleased with everything about this product. Would install these again with no hesitation. Recommended without reservation. Theses treads get a grade of A-Plus!

2 WEEK UPDATE: So we have had these for 2 weeks and I have to say that I like them more now than I did when we first got them. They have flatted down in the 2 weeks of use so my fear of tripping on them is sorted and we didn't need to purchase carpet tape. They have given our dog more confidence when going downstairs. So for those reasons I have given these 4 out of 5 stars. A new con we have found is that our Roomba can move them by getting it's arm underneath the mats. But, it's not really that big of a deal as it only affect 2 of the 15 mats. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got these for our dog who has problems going down our wood stairs. Now I admit we have had these on our stairs for about a day so I will update this review if anything changes. These are easy to install, don't slide around, and do feel nice. BUT these do not stay flat. I know these are not meant to be sticky and that is why I purchased them since we rent. But even after a couple of hours of having heavy books on these they still don't remain flat. After walking on them I can hear the 'adhesive' coming off the floor. So I am very worried about the possibility of someone tripping on them. I'm probably going to purchase some carpet tape to keep these from moving. But if I could go back I wouldn't purchase these again! 2 out of 5 So if you are going to get these do yourself a favor and get some double-sided carpet tape to keep these down.

I waited a while before posting the review. I had my doubts that these would actually work. How are they supposed to stay in place with nothing more than just a rather sticky rubbery surface against the hardwood? But doggone it if it doesn't work as advertised! I've noticed that one or two of them will lose stick if I'm not really careful when vacuuming, but that's probably my fault. The others all stay down really well. I was concerned because my steps are on an older home (built in 1962, so the hardwood stairs are getting close to 60 years old) but these things look really good, they've held up very well for the last six (plus) months, and they clean up nicely and easily. Great value. I'm really pleased (and even a little surprised) to be able to recommend them highly. One tip that might help keep them in top condition: vacuum them frequently to keep them clean. Maybe that's why these do so well. I run an Airbnb in my home, and vacuum them every couple of days. Maybe that has helped to keep them looking and working well. I have nothing bad to say about these; they have worked very well.

Our house was built in the 1940s, and the stairs have much narrower treads than would be permissible today. It has been a problem for me (and my size 13 feet), as the edge of the treads fall just at the end of the ball of my foot, and when I'm wearing socks (we maintain a shoe-free home) slipping has been an issue. After a particularly hard fall, I finally decided to find a solution. These fit the bill perfectly! The treads were very easy to install, and only took about 15 minutes (including time to clean the stairs first). They came with a tag attached to the thin plastic film on the adhesive. The tags were useless for removing the film (they were too far away from the edge of the film, and when we tried using them to remove the film the tags just came off). After playing around a bit, the solution that worked great for us was to stick a length of scotch tape right at the edge of the film to pull the film off. It worked like a charm! The treads have definitely made the stairs much safer. My feet don't slide on them at all. A handful of reviewers commented that the treads don't stick well, but so far ours are staying firmly attached. I think that properly prepping the stairs to make sure they are free from dirt, dust, and other debris is important (we cleaned each step with wood cleaner right before installing). I'm sure that the surface and condition of the stairs is also a critical factor in how well they work.

Bought to make stairs safer for an elderly dog, and for me, as I don't have full feeling in one foot, and because it said they won't damage stair treads of e.g. a rental. On wood stairs cleaned well per instructions, the treads would not stay flat (see photos and video). They were not shipped flat, and the bend from packing remained in the treads and would not flatten out. The bit that raised up can catch a foot and cause someone to trip. Photo shows stairs where I tried to install them. Older home, wood, in good condition, flat, no warping. I understood from the manufacturer site that these are not supposed to be sticky adhesive, but rather non-slip. The two ends seemed like they should stay put, but that "pooch" in the middle is a deal-breaker. The treads came with a tab that indicated you pull on it to remove the backing film. The tabs just pulled off and did not release the backing film (see photo). Had to get a small box knife to get under the film to start removing it. If not for that, they would be easy to install. And yes, I only removed the thin backing film, nothing more. Unfortunately I didn't install these until after the refund window expired due to some other things going on in the house. I'll re-purpose them in some other application where I can glue or tack them down. Too bad. They material is good quality, the size was perfect, and they would have been ideal if they adhered as advertised.

They didn’t stick well but definitely made a change in the wooden stairs so they are not so hard. They are soft and easy to vacuum.

These treads work very well, will buy again as needed.

This product is great. They completely stick to our timber stairs and create a non-slip surface for our aging dog to be able to easily get up and down the stairs. They remove easily too, allowing for cleaning
