Color X-Change Semi-Permanent Hair Color, PLUSHY PURPLE
This review is for the plushy purple color only. Note that I am not a professional hairstylist and the actions I performed to attain my results are in no way guaranteed to work for others and try at own risk if you so decide. Now on to the review: this is an intense vibrant blue based purple. I have tried other semi-permenant brands, manic panic, and the color faded to almost gone after 2 washes (only washed my hair once a week and used dry shampoo paste to extend time between washes.) That was even after wrapping my hair in cling wrap and letting it sit over night! Now, this brand was a completely different experience. I followed the same procedure as with manic panic, cling wrap and sit overnight then rinsed with cold water and color safe shampoo (tressa watercolors gentle clean). After drying the color was incredibly vibrant! Maybe even a little more than I wanted but so beautiful. Truely like the color of a newly bloomed african violet flower. I have washed my hair several times since, in attempts to fade it, BUT it has retained it's vibrancy! Even after washing 3 times a week with warm water and head and shoulders shampoo...I am shocked it has lasted so long. Only now the color is starting to slightly fade into a blueish purple, but it is still vibrant. I wish there are more colors to choose from as I would eagerly try them. I did pre-lighten my hair before using this product. I thought that would effect the longevity, but NOPE! Highly recommend the purple if you want an intense blue based purple.

Bluer than it looks.
The photos show the dye (mood of blue only applied on the bottom ends of my hair, pravana violet on the upper) as it fades naturally one week at a time. First photo is the day of, second photo is one week after, third photo is 2 weeks after. It doesn't last as long as Pravana. I previously have used direct dye Pravana Violet which turns more reddish purple on my light-brown bleached hair, but I wanted to make my hair or at least the bottom part of my hair less red and more blue tinted violet. I was able to easily achieve that with this Mood Of Blue color. However, it was a lot more of a greenish-blue on my hair, so I did have to actually mix half and half. Half of Pravana Violet, with half of this Mood of Blue, and it gave a nice rich violet/indigo color. Though it turned more blue than purple after washing it out, so that is something to look out for. I am still satisfied since it matches with one of my favorite dresses. But I will try next time to mix in more Pravana Violet, maybe 2/3 or 3/4. Really, my only wish is that it lasted longer. Normally I'm told that blue colors are supposed to stay longer on hair than reds, yet the more reddish purple stays on my hair much longer. Might be maybe Pravana is just more high quality? I don't know, but if you don't mind the shorter time to fade, or like me it's an easy-to-reach location you're dying, it's fine.

Not my favorite. Color didnโt match advertisements.
Before I start, Iโd just like to state that I am experienced in bleaching & dying my hair. I have been dying my hair religiously for 6 years now and have tried my fair share of dues and this one is definitely not my favorite. Despite my hair being white in some places I never got the color advertised or sent in by other reviews, in the bluer places it was more of a light blue than it was a deep blue, which is what I was searching for. Additionally on the more yellow portions of my hair the dye turned out a light teal/turquoise at best and quickly faded to a sea green. I will say I am someone who showers everyday, so my results are a little more abrasive than someone who doesnโt, but either way it didnโt stay long. Iโm sure I wouldโve liked it more if it was the color I was intending to go for but since it wasnโt I was left with a sour taste in my mouth. I was originally intending to use a dye that I used years ago by the brand sparks but unfortunately it seemed like they were no longer selling anymore so I decided letโs try this, why not. And here we are.

No, just no.- Update!
*Edit* I decided to do the whole head, in the Plushy Purple (magenta violet depending on starting color) vs wander about with lavender splotches. Still comes out to ruin any towel you use to dry . The color is beautiful perfection, & Iโm so in love! Happy ending to a terrible beginning* the colors do fade pretty quickly, but overall seem to compare to most permanent brands! โve been searching for a semi permanent coloring that would actually hold to mine & my 5yo daughters hair without damage. We have tried so many big brands & the color doesnโt deposit. (Fresh shampoos no conditioner even, Iโm talking naked hair to a crispy level still no color sticks). I decided for the price Iโll give it a shot, itโs not any real $ to lose. I did the underneath of my hair with this gorgeous plum color, expecting nothing, hoping for a nice tone on my already dark brown underneath hair. I rinsed in cool water, it ran clear. I dried my hair, the shirt I used turned pink. Back to rinsing. I repeated this 3x! At this point all the color has washed out of my brown hair, & now my blonde is lavender. This product doesnโt wash out. It just keeps running, & running, & running. I kept my hair separated as I always do for coloring & washing but in the end when putting product in thinking I was in the clear after 40 mins of washingโฆ it turns out Iโm not & now Iโm purple. Including my hands. If youโre not color blocking go for it, if you plan to have sections- skip this because it will run alllllll over your head.

Don't waste ur money
I picked this hair dye after days of searching for the color I wanted. Wen it arrived I immediatel6 noticed that the bottle was bigger than most hair dye bottles, so I thought there's no way it wont he enough to do my whole head......well I was wrong. But not only was it not enough it was very thin and didnt coat my hair properly. I applied the dye and waiter the 30 mins to process and wrinsed it out. Wat I saw in the mirror was horrible. The color was 3-4 different colors. Very inconsistent. And it did not cover my grays!! I have been dyeing my hair myself at home for 20 years and I have never tried a hair dye I was more dissappointed with. I like to do different colors and usually love just about any way my hair turns out except this time. This hair dye is thin and runny, it does not coat the hair right, and it turned my hair several different colors. My hair was purple on the middle. The color of the dye was supposed to be turquoise so how it ended up purple only in the middle is beyond me. Lol. With the different colors my hair turned out, can u believe that none if them were turquoise. It was a bige waste of money and time. I will not purchase agaon and I dont suggest anyone else does either. First hair dye fail in 20 years ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐ฃ๐ซ๐ญ๐ญ

This worked well for me!
Got this to color at home my existing 'peek-a-boo' color pops during the pandemic. My friend who is a licensed cosmetologist had bleached and colored them for me a few times before, so I felt semi-comfortable with the process. I waited until all of the previous color came out of the bleached sections (this took a really long time, but #pandemic) so I would not have to bleach them again. I believe the 'proper' thing to go is bleach them each time, but I was way too scared to try that at home! Anyway- this was easy to use and did not have a bad smell or anything. This colored my bleached hair perfectly, it even looked nice on the few parts of nonbleached dark brown hair that got mixed in. I used this on October 2nd and around December 15th I noticed the color had mellowed from the 'Plushy Purple' to a dark periwinkle. I do not mind the color changing as it fades out, I see it as getting a few different color pops for the price of one! I do not use heat on my hair for drying or styling, I also do not use a 'color safe' shampoo or conditioner. I use Aragon oil a few times a month and I know that can have a color stripping effect. Regardless, I very happy with this purchase!

Blue-er than pictured, but otherwise wonderful!
I got plushy purple hoping for a nice plum purple like the picture on the bottle, but it turned out much more like blue edging into purple. I ended up doing a red color over it and it is perfect. The Pros: The color is VERY strong, almost too dark if you leave it on the full time. It lasts for a very long time, like never fades. One bottle was enough for 2 shoulder length applications. Cons: Colors are not the same as pictured online or on the bottle. I have found some color shedding on my pillowcase and a headband that I wore in the rain, but not as bad as some punk brands. As far as I can tell, the purple at least doesn't fade. You will have to cut or bleach the color to get rid of it.

formula could be improved
This new brand seems to have a lot of potential, so I hope they continue tweaking and perfecting their formula. I bought the Graffiti Green because I'm a sucker for a warm-toned deep green, and this seemed to fit the bill. The color really is delicious, but I wish it had more pigment to it. When I put it over freshly bleached hair, the color turned out very light - sort of a washed out grassy green which faded almost completely back to blonde in 2 washes. I then dyed my hair with a very pigmented blue-green (Manic Panic Enchanted Forest), and when that faded a bit, I tried to retouch it with Graffiti Green hoping it would add some warmth and extra dimension to the color. The effect was barely noticeable, like I hadn't retouched it at all. It's a shame, because this would be such a gorgeous color if it were more pigmented.

I have mid length hair, and this product came 3 times for my highlighted hair. It's semi permanent so it easly goes for 10 to 12 washes

good if you want PERMANENT
This colour is great if you're wanting to permanently have your hair this colour, however, it faded to a really horrible colour and the only way to get it out would be to re-bleach it (I can't, I've already bleached it too much). It was initially pretty vibrant, not like any purple I've ever seen before. Good value for money, but it really is permanent.
