Out of everything I have purchased for hems, this product is the best! So glad I found this. It stops itch, soreness and reduces the issue. Highly recommend.

Some background for context. My grandmother had a stroke a few years ago and is in a wheelchair. At night time we have her setup with an external female catheter system known as PureWick. This way she doesn’t need to get up at night to pee and doesn’t need to be wet at night with adult diapers. The single use external catheters are made with synthetic materials and need to be WAY up in her business. The end of it needs to be pretty much sealed against her perineum so it doesn’t leak. Getting this “installed” effectively every night is tricky and not without discomfort for my grandmother. Additionally there is strain on the soft tissues because of the regular usage and man-handling she undergoes. For months we tried using witch-hazel pads to soothe the area and various lubricants to assist in installation but the PureWick would leak some and the area was always tender. Since discovering this ointment and using it nightly we’ve had much more frequent success with the PureWick (less leaks), the installation process is smoother. H-salve’s consistency is perfect and it provides a little bit of slip without making a mess and the right amount allows for a good seal. Now the ointment is protecting her through the night rather than just having witch hazel on her occasionally during the day. I’ve been using the same pot of ointment for almost a year and we still have half of it left. A little goes a long way and it is nothing short of exceptional. It even smells good. The label indicated this is made close to where my grandparents used to live so we like to imagine that it’s one of our old friends or acquaintances making this for us. I'm 74 and my skin definitely shows signs of wear. I bought this to use on lichen sclerosis and it is soothing on me. Last night I noticed how wrinkly my suntanned neck is looking so rubbed a bit into my neck. I swear it took 25 years off overnight! and it's nearly noon next day and my neck still looks great! Will be trying on other aging spots and hoping for similar results.

The value of this product is almost 100% dependent on the user and your specific situation. I have had some rectal bleeding for a long time and, like a lot of stubborn guys, put it off and put it off. Assuming it was a fissure or internal hemorrhoid, I bought this to see if it would help it heal. I can tell you that the pain following a bowel movement was alleviated by this product, but I wouldn't say that it was any more relief than you might get from Vaseline or other similar product. I used it every day twice a day for about a week and I'm still bleeding so for me it wasn't worth the $25. That being said, it may work to provide relief for you and may be worth the money. Just don't expect it to "cure" anything. I don't think that is what the manufacturer intended it to be for, but rather to provide relief until your body can heal itself.

OUCH !!!!! While there are mixed reviews on this product, for me, just less than a pea-sized amt. is causing me intense burning. After 11 hours the burning is still intense, in spite of soaking in a water bath and taking OTC pain meds. If you purchase this, do a test application with a VERY small amt. and see if you can tolerate it. For me the burning started within 10 minutes. I’m sure many get good results, but just beware to do a “patch test” first.
