Updated over 6 months later to confirm that fleas are now rarely found, maybe 3-4 a month, whereas it was double digits per day a year ago. I give 1 tablet per cat per day (half the recommended amount). Only one of the 6 cats doesn't get excited about their after dinner treat. --------- I have 5 outside cats, 1 outside dog, and 1 inside cat in coastal Alabama. I used a different brand of brewers yeast tablets on occasion for a few years but only gave it consistently starting early this summer to help the dog with itching. After 2+ months of daily use, I noticed ALL 7 pets were scratching much less, and I stopped finding fleas on the ones I comb. That brand was not available when I ran out in August, so I ordered this. 2+ weeks later, still no fleas and they all think it's a treat. In general with both products, less shedding, softer fur, and no fleas!

To me a good value ! And my dogs love them n it seems to do them well !!!!

I bought these with some misgivings but I was in need of something to give my dog to keep the fleas and flies from bothering him. I have Frontline but it seems to make him feel a bit whoozy for a day or two after the application. When these arrived they came as pictured - a gallon jar chock full of tablets about the size of an aspirin. I was concerned that I would have to give them to him by hand daily but that was not to be. Based on the directions and his approximate weight I give him six tablets a day. At this rate they should last from two to three years. I toss three tablets on top of his dry dog food at each feeding (two times a day). He gobbled them up from day one. He can be a somewhat picky eater but I guess garlic flavoring is a bonus on top of his kibbles. As well as my unfounded concern about him accepting them in his diet, I was wondering about the efficacy. I was thinking it might just make him taste like garlic marinated dog treats to all of the fleas and flies. He has been eating them for three to four months now and I have not seen any fleas or fly bites (they used to chew on him right above his tail). All in all, this is a very good product in my estimation and, in another several years I will order again.

OK, first of all, I use these for both my dogs and cats for digestive health and skin and coat health. I do not use for flea and tick protection. That being said, my pets do not have fleas and ticks. I read some reviews complaining about the amount you have to give your dog (1 pill / 5 lb), but I have no problem with it and here is why. First of all, I crush these pills to put on the cat and kitten food, and these pills are soft so they are easy to crush to a fine powder. Other pills are so hard, that crushing them can be a painful event. Secondly, super compressed pills that you only have to give one/10 lb or so I consider to be damaged goods. When you compress anything, you impart heat, and super compressed pills have a lot of heat imparted in them when they are made. This heat can cause weird chemical reactions, oxidation, and destroy the properties of yeast.

Bought these for our mastiff and 3 indoor/outdoor cats.. I am so sick of spending money on frontline when the fleas have become immune and it doesn't even work anymore.. We also have 2 kids so anything without pestisides is A++ in our book.. Our dog LOVES these pills.. she comes running and gobbles them right up, then tries to steal them from the cats, 2 out of our 3 cats will eat them but the other is suspicious and will not.. so far it seems to be keeping the fleas off our dog. My husband also found a tick attatched but it was shrived up and dead.. I am not sure if that is from the pills but am keeping my fingers crossed.. I was wondering because of the garlic perhaps it will keep mosquitos and internal parasites at bay too.. That would be super fantastic as our cats are mousers.. If nothing else.. they seem to like the taste! Anything is worth a shot being we were just throwing our money in the garbage on frontline anyway..

I have been using this product for my dogs for many years. I do not use poison on them for flea and tick control and this works well, only find an occasional tick, often dead. Their coats are all soft and shiny, but I also give them fish oil.

Used this product for a few years and have been happy with it. However, for this order, the expiry/ best before date was scraped off/ illegible. The top and cushioning cotton inside the container was yellowed; to be fair, I cannot tell if this is due to age or power from the tablets which are in loose form. The main label outside the container also looked faded compared to my old bottle which I bought 1 year ago; I don't know if its old age or due to manufacturer changing the label color tone. Taking all these into consideration, I decided to return the product to be on safe side.
