A Great Budget-Friendly Tire with Some Considerations
I recently purchased the Pearhead Schwinn Replacement Bike Tire for my hybrid road bike (700c x 38), and after using it for a couple of weeks I must say that it has performed rather well for its price point. Below are my observations: Pros: Inexpensive: You really can't beat the price. If you are on a budget and need a decent replacement tire, this one is a great option. Lightweight: The tire is lightweight, making it a breeze to handle and doesn't add unnecessary weight to the bike. Supports 75 psi: You can inflate it to 75 psi, giving you a good performance on different road conditions. Cons: Takes Time to Get into Shape: The one major drawback is that the tire takes a couple of days to get into shape. It means you can't install it immediately, which can be a bit inconvenient if you need your bike urgently. Weak Side Wire: The side wire that supports the wheel doesn't feel very strong. While it hasn't caused any issues so far, it does make me wonder about long-term durability. Advice to Future Buyers: During installation, keep pressure on the tube minimal just to shape it. Incrementally add pressure every day - start with 40 psi, then 60 psi on the next day, and ride a block followed by full 75 psi. Keep riding for a bit to help the new tire settle. This will assist the tire in conforming to its proper shape and ensure better performance. Conclusion: The Pearhead Schwinn Replacement Bike Tire is a commendable option for those looking for a cost-effective, lightweight tire. The issues with getting into shape and the side wire's strength are points to consider, but they don't overshadow the benefits. As long as you follow the advice on gradual inflation, this tire can be a reliable addition to your bike. For the price, it's certainly worth a shot!

Excellent quality tire for the price
Bought these tires for my daughter's bike she'll be using for college. I decided to go with a blackwall tires since the original tires were skin skinned walled with a brown rubber compound for the treads. Both my daughter and I have changed the appearance of her bike to make it look a little more discrete and less attractive compared to other nicer looking bikes on campus. The tires were really easy to mount without the use of any tire levers. It took approximately 10 minutes for me to change out both tires. The rubber has a nice firm compound for longevity and ride comfort. I also like how the inner workings of the tires are kevlar material base compared to the tires we had on originally. This makes the tires almost puncher proof against thorns or other sharp objects that cause flats. The bead of the tires are nice and stiff when inflated to 70-80 psi. The size of the tires i purchased are 28" x 1.5", which is what the original tires were. I've mounted hundred of tires; and these tires were surprisingly nice quality and priced just right. Thanks. ~ Roger

Better Than the Ones Pictured
The photo is not what you get, tread looks wise, and that's not a bad thing. The tread is more directional and has a better water/sand channeling center without adding rolling resistance. For these, or any Kevlar beaded tire, I suggest grab one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C128PC/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me= at the same time. I've been using one of them for well over 20 years and they make short work of the super tight bead seating of a new Kevlar tire. Another tip is put enough air in the tube beforehand so it sits fully round but just barely, probably 1-2psi or so. It keeps the tube from pinching between the lever and rim. Tubes used to come covered in talc making things much more easy for even a novice to change their own stuff. Once the tire is on put about 20psi of air and thoroughly check the bead for correct seating. Do another partial fill to about 40 psi and check one more time. If it's got spots that aren't exactly seated by being too deep you can grab the tire and twist at the point where it's too deep and often feel it pop into perfection. The max on these is 75psi is why I suggested the numbers beforehand. For mountain bikes or others that use less maximum pressure, lower the numbers to about 10psi, then 20 psi before the maximum of~ 40-45. Anyway back to the tires. Once installed I took them out for a spin on my Schwinn hybrid and road only pavement. They were a smidge noisier than the oem ones with the Schwinn sticker but those were very noisy when they were new also. Traction in corners was nice and felt like they were one with the road. I found some long puddles and tried the center water shedding area and never felt like I was hydroplaning in the least. Sand and small gravel along roadsides was also not a problem like the originals sometimes were at low speed. I didn't notice any rolling resistance difference ,a surprise because the tread feels a little grippier when I rubbed my fingers across the tread before the ride. Time will tell how long the treads last but I really like how these tires handle so far. They handled rough , wet, and dirty pavement like it was clean, dry, and smooth. At the price Amazon is asking if they only last a few hundred miles I'll still consider them a good value.

So far, so good
Seems to be a good tire, although time will tell of its durability. It was tough to mount as some other people pointed out, but I think this has more to do with the way it is packaged (as a roll) than the tire itself. Other tires come this way so I guess it's normal to expect. You really have to fuss with it to get it on the rim and to get it "true" with no lumps, etc, as it doesn't naturally fall into a nice round shape. Once you get it there, though, it rides nice and feels strong. I'd buy it again. If you are concerned whether "700c" is the same thing as "700 x 38c", etc, apparently the answer is yes. I had bought some "700 x 38c" tires previously and they were the same size. It's very confusing but apparently the key is the presence of the "700" and the "c". POSTSCRIPT: These tires ride fine but do wear out fairly quickly. I bought different brand before this one, a Kenda tire also sold on Amaxon, which is Herculian sturdy compared to these Schwinn tires. Many years and a lot of hard miles later, it hardly shows any wear, as if it were car tire quality or something. Would highly recommend Kenda instead.

Great replacement tire for CCM
These tires fit very well on an old CCM bike, and the tread pattern and sidewall look similar to the original tire, only newer. I had no difficulty getting them on, but I did have to use two large flathead screwdrivers to pry the bead over. Don't try it using regular plastic levers.
