I recently purchased "Get Coding!" and I must say, it's an excellent resource for anyone looking to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Easy and simple, great book!

I bought this for my 11 year old nephew who has a casual interest in programming, but lacked a decent primer. This is an excellent starter book to set a newbie on the right path (regardless of age.) Didn't keep his attention long enough for him to finish the book, though, as it's quite wordy and heavy on side bars and explanations, which are required to gain a deeper understanding in programming in general. A few more 'early wins' would have made for a slightly more engaging introduction. Still a great book, nonetheless.

This is definitely worth getting if you want to get into coding and don't have any previous experience, I have lots of coding books some are beginner books some more advanced and one thing they all have in common is how complicated they make it all seem! Either the writers don't realise what a beginner is or they just like to feel superior to us lesser mortals and as such have jargon that is expected to be understood right from the off... this book and the 2nd one doesn't do that they're very well written for a beginner and you will be coding in no time! Perfect for Kids and adults! I highly recommend 👌

This is Book 1, I also bought Book 2. Both for christmas presents. I know my son will love these as he loves coding already and these have games and challenges for him.

This book teaches someone HTML, CSS and JavaScript really well. Before reading this book, I tried learning HTML and JavaScript by watching some beginner tutorials on Youtube but those tutorials don't explain things clearly, demonstrate things too quickly and are just a pile of mess. Before reading this book, I didn't know how to write a full HTML and JavaScript program and I didn't understand a lot of things in any code of a program made of HTML and JavaScript. After I started reading this book and when I was half way through the first chapter of the book, I realised that this book teaches a complete beginner like me HTML, CSS and JavaScript really well. The text is written clearly and concisely. I really like how this book is written in missions and has a storyline, which make the book fun to read. Usually books which teach coding don't have any storyline and just give instructions and are really boring. This book is not boring. I also like there are lots of illustrations in the book. Having illustrations and not just text make reading the book more fun. Before reading this book, I could not create any webpages. After started reading this book, I can. Really amazing book. I am so glad that I have come across this book!

I was surprised this missed out about headings, one of the first things you learn about html. It's great that it gives a project to work on, but it keeps changing the content for you to write. You have to be creative and come up with the design yourself really. Nice visual book otherwise.

This book in incredible. I've been designing websites on and off as a hobby for 20 years and I've enjoyed using this to home educate my 13 year old boy about coding as he's mad on stuff like Minecraft. I like a lot about this book... the story telling style of teaching coding is perfect for kids (and adults!)... rather than just saying "type this to do this". The first project is basic (as it should be) but the smile on his face when he achieved something was hard to describe.... and it gradually gets more difficult as you work on more complex projects. We are only half way through this book yet Ive just bought Get Coding 2. There should be more of these books.... more than Harry Potter! I'd buy them all. Well done to the author(s)
